SAMIC comes from the Khmer SAMAKI MIKROHERANVATHO which could be translated as “Microfinance of Solidarity”.
Solidarity is a key word for Samic. We truly believe that solidarity conveys important values which are essential for doing microfinance. Solidarity starts with honesty and responsibility, essential for the integrity of our business, and day after day we do our best to share them with our clients to guarantee the sustainability of our activities.
As a Cambodian company operated and managed by and for Cambodian people, we are proud to carry our national values of humility and respect.
As the three persons in the former CHC logo, the 3 shapes (from the letter A) represent here the main actors of our activities: the Client, the State of Cambodia and our Institution. They are combined in a knot to express the close collaboration between them and their interdependence.
The letter “A” - the first of the Latin alphabet - symbolize the beginning, as our loans are a mean for our clients to give a new start to their business and life. Built up in a triangle like an everlasting pyramid, they symbolize the sustainability of our Institution.
The value of Solidarity is underlined by the shake-hand between the Khmer and the English writings of Samic.
The colors are also meaningful to us. Red stands for courage, Green for development and prosperity and Yellow for peace. In addition, Samic introduces a bright and colorful palette of colors express our creativity and modernity.
